The Challenge
The Mercedes-Benz GL350 sustained extensive accident damage affecting the front and rear bodywork, chassis and suspension components, steering, drivetrain, panoramic roof, windscreen, SRS safety systems and electronically controlled systems. The scale of damage required coordinated structural, mechanical and electrical restoration.
Work Completed
Accident Repair & Bodyshop
Extensive accident repairs included replacement of the nose-cut assembly, bonnet, LHF wing, rear bumper and associated body components. The panoramic roof and roof lining were replaced, together with the front windscreen with lane-assist sensors. Chassis jigging was carried out as part of restoring the vehicle's structure and alignment.
Diagnostics, Electrical & AC
The vehicle's safety and electronically controlled systems required extensive attention. Roof curtain airbags, dashboard airbag and seat belts were replaced, while the lane-assist windscreen and associated sensors required programming and adaptation. Dealer online coding and additional programming/adaptation were carried out as part of restoring the vehicle's electronic systems.
Paint & Refinishing
Following the structural and body repairs, the affected repaired and replacement panels were prepared, primed and refinished to restore a consistent exterior finish.
Service & Mechanical
Mechanical restoration included replacement of damaged suspension, steering and drivetrain components including control arms, stabilizer components, RHF shock absorber, knuckle and hub assembly, RHF drive shaft, front differential and electric steering rack. Air-suspension components including the vacuum pump, air-suspension pump and valve block were also replaced, followed by wheel alignment and balancing.
The Result
The Mercedes-Benz GL350 underwent comprehensive accident restoration covering body and structural repairs, suspension and steering components, drivetrain-related parts, panoramic roof and windscreen replacement. The airbag and seat-belt safety systems were restored, while the air suspension and other electronically controlled components were repaired and programmed as required. Chassis jigging, wheel alignment and balancing were carried out before completion.
