The Challenge
The Mazda CX-5 sustained extensive accident damage affecting multiple areas, including the front and right-hand side, suspension and steering components, cooling system, engine and gearbox mountings, wheels, body panels and safety systems. The impact also resulted in deployed airbags and damaged seat belts, together with damage to several mechanical, electrical and structural components.
Work Completed
Accident Repair & Bodyshop
Extensive accident repairs were carried out to the front and right-hand side of the vehicle.
Damaged components replaced included the front bumper shell, radiator panel, engine cradle, engine splashguard, RHF wing finisher and RHS door moulding.
The rear bumper, RHS doors, RHS wing and RHF wing were repaired as required. Deployed safety components, including the RHS curtain airbag, driver seat airbag and front seat belts, were also replaced.
Diagnostics, Electrical & AC
Electrical and diagnostic work was carried out following the accident repairs.
Damaged or faulty components replaced included the SRS module, RHF wheel speed sensor, RHS ABS sensor, turbo pressure sensor, front parking sensors and parking sensor retainer.
The AC radiator was replaced and the air-conditioning system was refilled with refrigerant as part of completing the repair.
Paint & Refinishing
The repaired body areas were prepared and professionally refinished following completion of the accident repairs.
Paintwork included the bumpers, RHS doors, RHS mirror and RHS wings, with primer and associated refinishing materials applied as required to restore a consistent finish.
Service & Mechanical
Mechanical repairs included replacement of damaged steering, suspension and drivetrain components, including the RHS rack end and tie rod end, RHF lower control arm, ball joint, driveshaft, hub assembly, shock absorber and stabilizer links.
Rear suspension components including the RHR hub assembly, control arm and radial arm were replaced. The damaged engine cradle, RHS engine mounting and gearbox mounting were also replaced.
The cooling radiator, intercooler radiator and associated damaged components were replaced. Wheel alignment and balancing were carried out following completion of the repairs.
The Result
The Mazda CX-5 underwent comprehensive accident restoration across the affected body, mechanical, electrical and safety systems. Damaged components were replaced as required, including suspension and steering parts, cooling components, engine and gearbox mountings, airbags, seat belts, sensors and associated front-end components. The damaged body panels were repaired and professionally refinished, followed by electrical diagnosis, wheel alignment and balancing and completion of the associated mechanical work.
